Altitude Training
Who Uses Altitude Training
Athletes from the NFL and NBA, to Olympians, to Triathletes, just to name a few, have used simulated altitude training. But don't think it's just for professional athletes. People planning a vacation to high altitude locations have benefited from simulated altitude training too.
What is Altitude Training
Altitude Training is using a machine that pulls in oxygen rich air, removes the oxygen to simulate the desired altitude and pumps the deoxygenated air through a hose into a wearable mask. By breathing in the deoxygenated air, your body responds just as it would if you were at the selected altitude, giving you the benefits of being at high altitudes without leaving the flat lands of Illinois.
For Athletes
Training at altitude has been shown to improve athletic performance. The reduction in oxygen forces your body to adapt by increasing capillary density, increasing Red Blood Cell count, and improved diffusion rates across lung tissue, among others. What does that mean for an athlete like you? Faster recovery and enhanced endurance.
Not Just for Athletes
One of the biggest things that ruins a vacation to a place like Colorado or Utah or any other high altitude destination is altitude sickness. By using the simulated altitude training programs we offer, you will be pre-acclimatized and can greatly reduce the likelihood of suffering from altitude sickness.
